The Philistine ran to him, tied him and pierced his eyes before taking him to Gaza, where they tied him with a double chain. Samson was made to turn the millstone for the rest of his days. The Philistine princes all gathered to celebrate the capture of Samson with music, dance, games… the entire people was proud and happy. The people said: “Our god Dagon gave us Samson, our enemy, he who devastated our country and multiplied the dead”.

Hearts filled with joy, the Philistines asked that Samson should be brought before them from his prison, so that he should dance before everyone. Samson was their slave, and they wanted to mock him as often as possible.
